Per Andresen is born in 1953
He started as a graffiti-painter in Copenhagen in the early seventies and was the founder of a group of artists named ”DADAN 66”, which created a number of happenings and street-events as provocations to the existing society.
After too much trouble with civil citizens and police, Per Andresen began to paint on canvas instead.
According to himself, he will always be a rebel and if you follow him, you will see a long train of provocations and conflicts in his footsteps. This gives him the energy to his paintings, as you may see they are insisting and you either like or dislike them.
The paintings are produced in the moment of spontaneity and they content an uncompromising savagery at the same time.
Per Andresen tries to describe topics as: social inequalities, the problems of racism and political oppression.
I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO ARE INSPIRED BY BASQUIAT BUT I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO ADMIT IT.
