RIE FROEHLICH / PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I, like most people, use art as an outlet to express my inner feelings that I am not able to through words, nor do I want to. My art pieces start off with a vision and most of the time end in a completely different direction which often surprises even me. Through much trial and error, I have found a character, a version of the human body, that I can relate to. She takes many shapes and forms and I am able to communicate through her.
Whether it’s fashion, interior design or painting Rie Froehlich is a self taught artist with creativity exploding from the core. Rie is an artist that encapsulates dramatic facial features, intense night scenes, and even explorative sexual desires through oil pastels and collages. She has found characters that frequent her artwork and takes a myriad of different forms and personas. Classy yet mysterious, this character explores many different areas of life such as standing tall and proud in “Uptown Chic” to being tied up and exploring the steamier side of life in “Erotica… Bondage.”
Creating these beautiful interpretations of the human body usually begin with a specific vision in mind that has been sparked through an inspiring aspect of typical everyday life. However, most of the time these visions end up taking a completely different turn, ending with a piece she never expected. Art has allowed Rie to explore inner feelings through this human like character that she is unable and uninterested in expressing through words.
While viewing her works of art one might find themselves living vicariously through these characters. The scenes that Rie depicts are often ones that while we may be internally interested in, would never reveal out to the world. This is what makes her artworks incredibly moving to others.
