I Love drawing and painting! Especially when the creative force takes over and the process becomes spontaneous. When I’m in that zone, only seeing/painting is happening, and the brush is set free.
My main interest nowadays is capturing the essence of the human body.
While observing the model in front of me, I apply paint on paper with direct brush strokes, in a similar way to sumi-e painting. The intensity of short poses brings a dynamic energy into my brush and generates intuitive painting. As a self-taught artist, I find that life drawing is one of the best art disciplines and a great way to grow as an artist.
Watercolours, ink, graphite and charcoal are my preferred mediums, or anything else that can be mixed with water. I just can’t stop myself from experimenting.
In my professional life I worked as a graphic designer in various studios then in my own business. A shift in my life lead me into the world of alternative medicine, and for twenty years I have been practicing as a therapist and healer. Working mostly with children naturally flowed into sharing my artistic passion with them and teaching painting. Working with people has transitioned now to frequently painting alone in my studio. A most satisfying yet frustrating way of life. What a blessing.
