Inside each piece is presented an infinity of sketches which wander through my mind in the early stages of every artwork. The first attempts are dissolved with paint as my imagination flies through. It develops unexpected forms and juxtaposed scenarios to become the image I am currently visualizing, hence the surrealist/expressionist character of my work.
After my Art studies in Portugal, I moved to Poland and came acquainted with renowned Polish painters like Beksiński and Witkiewicz. This has completely changed my perception over painting, in a way that I finally saw painting as the supreme form of expression. Together with the artists I grew up with, such as, H.R. Giger, Goya, Paula Rego, Turner and many others to name here, I have all the inspiration one can ask for.
I live and work in Kraków, Poland.
