“The absence of “green nature”, the boiling sand can easily burn the body’s armor and pull out the essence of creation sleeping within.”
2. “Phoenix”, Acrylic on Canvas, 70×50, 2017;
““Phoenix” depicts the metamorphosis I was dealing with in trying to adapt to the new environment at a professional, social and emotional level. “
3. “Nuda Veritas”, Acrylic on Canvas, 100×70; 2018; The reflection I had on my mind when making this painting:
“What’s our real task in this life when it comes to our inner truth: inner fears, pleasures, desires, needs? I believe we can decide how are we going to shape them and in which style are we going to bring them around.
But what happens if we do all this quite well and we end up putting our both sides, darker and brighter one, close to each other always striving for sharpening and polishing them? Or worse: what happens if we meet someone whose truth we like more then our own? Can we be aware of it? What if we perceive somebody else’s truth as shinier then ours and it touches something that we didn’t recognize before and it awakes an animal instinct within us? The animal side that always reminds us where we come from and what we bring as human ancestral “souvenir”. That tender link with all basic and natural instincts that can burn your soul if you don’t teach it how to behave, how to be. We are still quite inseparable from nature but at the same time we are witnesses of the conscious evolution in which we can decide either to be driven by instincts or to tame our animal creature and turn it into pleasant part of our personality that we can engage and play with… Are we capable to keep our animals under control? Are you? Can somebody else’s truth make your animal angry and wild or joyful and enthusiastic? Is it about you or others, can their truth hurt you or be your helper to better grasp where life leads you?” Marija
